The Pillow Snake
WAY FILM'S SECOND FEATURE, "THE PILLOW SNAKE," IS A UNIQUE HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA SET IN THE NORTHEASTERN USA TO A SOUNDTRACK OF GANGSTA RAP AND HIP-HOP.
THE PROJECT BY AUTHOR AND DIRECTOR MATTHEW WAY IS CURRENTLY IN PRE-PRODUCTION AND IS TO BE SHOT IN THE SPRING OF 2023.
"THE PILLOW SNAKE" HAS PARALLELS WITH BOTH AKIRA KUROSAWA'S "Rashômon"
and WILLIAM FAULKNER'S "THE SOUND AND THE FURY,"
and was inspired by Wim Wenders' "Wings of Desire"
and John Singleton's "Boyz n the Hood."

WAY FILM'S FIRST FEATURE "THE GENITAL WARRIORS" was conceived of IN 2003. WITHIN MONTHS, Matthew Way assembled a TEAM to SHOoT THE FIRST EPISODE. EVERY NINE MONTHS, A NEW TEAM then SHOT A NEW EPISODE WITH NEW ACTORS, Yet without MONEY. IN THIS MANNER, the film WAS SHOT OVER a period of SIX YEARS. IT PREMIERED AT THE RENOWNED Moscow International Film Festival in 2014. Its CINEMATIC RELEASE began in May 2015 IN GERMANY, then SPREAD TO FINLAND AND FINALLY THE USA, WHERE THE Village Voice and New York Times reported.

About
Matthew Way grew up outside of Philadelphia, USA, and studied at Wesleyan, Duke and the Humboldt University of Berlin. After living in Caracas, Venezuela, he won a Fulbright Scholarship to go to Hamburg, Germany. He became a freelancer under the name "Way Film Production" in 2003, officially founding his business in 2007, and later branched out to Berlin in 2014. Way Film Production is a network of freelancers and business partners. Matthew is also the founder of Way Film Translation, a business that helps other filmmakers translate their movies into as many languages as Matthew did for his first movie - 20!
